Local Changes Applied to Managed ADS Workstations

March 2005

Introduction

To improve the security and usability of Windows XP some policies and configuration changes are applied locally instead of by domain policy. Some repeat what is applied via domain policy. The reason is that these changes will then survive whether-or-not the computer is connected to the network (and the domain).

Some of these changes are applied to the computer, so they apply to all users that log on. Others are by user and may only apply to individual users.
