IST’s WSUS server provides a convenient, automatic way for your workstation to install up-to-date critical security patches from Microsoft. This is an alternative to configuring your system to use Microsoft Update with the added value of having the patches tested on UW workstations for several days prior to general release.
NOTE: Products and Classifications shows the types of patches that the UW campus WSUS server will deploy. This server only supports English language machines. Patches are first installed on a smaller set of workstations, the ADS Patch Testers group, before general release.
If you encounter any problems that you believe are a result of a patch please report it to the CHIP by calling x84357 or by submitting a request to IST’s Request Problem Reporting system.
